Brief Biography of
Speaker
Ms. Dwyer is a Doctoral
Candidate in the Department of Rehabilitation
Sciences at the University of Kentucky. She
received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic
Training from Duquesne University and her Master’s
of Science in Kinesiology and Health Promotions from
the University of Kentucky. Her research agenda is
focused on identifying impairments, functional
limitations, and their effects on quality of life in
patients with intra-articular hip pathology. She
currently lives in Lexington, KY.
Brief Description of
Presentation
We will review the
accuracy of clinical symptoms and tests in the
diagnosis of hip pathology in patients with hip
pain. The use of sensitive and specific tests may
allow clinicians to better determine intra-articular
versus extra-articular pathology of the hip using
appropriate clinical criteria.
