Brief Biography of
Speaker
Dr. Lattermann is
Assistant Professor for Sports Medicine at the
University of Kentucky Medical Center. Dr.
Lattermann began his training in Orthopaedics in
Hannover, Germany. He continued his education at the
University of Pittsburgh where he completed a 2-year
Orthopaedic Research Fellowship. He continued his
residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University
of Pittsburgh before he completed a one-year
clinical fellowship in Sports Medicine at Rush
University in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Lattermann currently
serves as Director of the Center for Cartilage
Repair and Restoration at the University of Kentucky
where he dedicates his time to the treatment of
complex joint and cartilage restoration in a clnical
setting as well as in Basic Science research. He has
authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed
journal articles, has written over 10 book chapters
and is a prolific speaker on regional, national and
international meetings.
Brief Description of
Presentation
This presentation is
designed to give an overview over the current
treatment options for articular cartilage and
meniscal injuries of the knee, Diagnosis, treatment
and outcome will be discussed. This presentation
ties in with the presentation on rehabilitation
after these injuries presented by Dr. Mattacola.
