Starting
November 17, 2008 , the SEATA Scholarship Committee will
be accepting applications from all potential candidates.
Any information submitted before this date will need
to be resubmitted.
Now
is the time
to initiate the application process for SEATA's $1,000.00
scholarships.
If you are a full time
undergraduate or
graduate
student pursuing a degree in the athletic training arena,
you may be eligible to apply for a SEATA scholarship.
Applicants must be a junior or senior in academic
standing, have at least a 'B' average in their overall
curriculum and be members of the Southeast Athletic
Trainers' Association.

Also, if you are a District 9 member and presently have a
dependent enrolled as a junior or senior in an accredited
college or university, $500.00 family scholarships are available
for you.

MEMORIAL UNDERGRADUATE
SCHOLARSHIP
DETAILS
-
The SEATA
Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship will be in the
amount of $1,000.00.
The Jerry Rhea/Atlanta
Falcons Undergraduate Scholarship Award
will be in the
amount of $1,000.00. The
Jim Gallaspy Student Leadership Scholarship will be in the
amount of $500.00. All scholarships
are for one year only. Past winners are not
eligible.

Applications are accepted annually from November
17th to January 7th.

Applications are only available online from the

The
winner will be selected on a combination of academic
achievement, character, and athletic training
abilities and activities.
-
The
scholarship committee is made up of representatives
from District Nine.
-
The
winners will be notified prior to the Annual
Athletic Training Student Symposium in February. Announcement of the winner and
awarding of the scholarship will occur during the
banquet of the Symposium.
CRITERIA
-
The applicant must
have at least a Junior standing for the upcoming year.
-
The applicant must be
enrolled in a curriculum leading to a Bachelor’s
degree.
-
The applicant must
have a grade point average of “B” or above.
-
The
applicant must be sponsored by a certified athletic
trainer who is a current member in good standing with
the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association and the
National Athletic Trainers Association
-
The applicant must
NOT be currently on full scholarship.
-
The
applicant must be a student member of the National
Athletic Trainers Association and the Southeast
Athletic Trainers Association.
-
It must
be the intent of the applicant to pursue the profession of athletic
training or related field as a means of his/her livelihood.
-
The
applicant must submit an
Undergraduate Statement from the Registrar Form
from the Registrar
of his or her college indicating the applicant’s
current grade point average through the most
recently completed school term to the District IX
Scholarship Committee Chairperson. (Fall Semester,
Fall or Winter Quarter, or other appropriate term
ending prior to the application date.)

The
applicant must request a letter of recommendation
from someone other than the supervising
athletic trainer. The recommendation must be
submitted via the online
Memorial Undergraduate Scholarship
Letter of Recommendation Form.
The letter should be from a person felt to be best
be able to judge the applicant's qualities and
abilities in the areas of academics and social
involvement.

Utilizing
the
Undergraduate Application Form,
the applicant is required to submit a one-page
biographical sketch including a statement as to why
he or she feels that they should be awarded the
scholarship.

The
applicant must have his or her supervising athletic
trainer complete the
Sponsoring Athletic
Trainer's Evaluation Form for Undergraduate
Applicants.

member in good standing with the

Athletic Trainers Association for the previous
five years.

applicant must submit a
Family
Statement from the Registrar Form
from the Registrar
of the dependant's college indicating the current grade point average through the most

One should be from a representative of the college
and the other from a community or church leader.
The recommendation must be submitted via the online
Family Scholarship Letter of Recommendation Form. Both letters should reflect the scholastic
achievement, leadership characteristics, and/or
social involvement of the dependant.
