The SEATA
Executive Board has approved developing a SEATA Student
Senate Committee to work in collaboration with the new
NATA National Athletic Training Student Committee which is
currently being formed. The development of this new
SEATA committee will be guided by the members of the
District IX EC
College/University Athletic
Training Students' Committee.
To be eligible for the SEATA Student Senate
Committee candidates must be non-certified members of
SEATA and be sophomores or juniors on July 1 in the year
of appointment OR have completed at least 60 credits
towards a bachelors or entry level masters degree.

Alisha Tolbert,
District IX NATSC Representative
Alisha Tolbert is a senior at Troy University in
Troy, AL. She is the outgoing District IX
representative for the National Athletic Training
Students' Committee. Alisha was the 2011 recipient
of the Bobby Gunn Student Leadership Award as well
as the 2012 recipient of both the SEATA
Undergraduate Memorial Scholarship and the Katie
Burke Memorial Scholarship through the NATA
Foundation. She will be attending Louisiana State
University for graduate school beginning summer of
2013.
Andrew Brubaker, SEATA
Student Senate, President and Chair
Andrew is from Richmond, Kentucky and is a graduate
of Model Laboratory High School. He is currently a
senior in the Athletic Training Education Program at
Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
He currently serves at the President and Chair of
the SEATA Student Senate where he is responsible for
overseeing conference calls and managing Student
Senate involvement in District IX as well as the
Annual Student Symposium. Andrew is the 2012
recipient of the Bobby Gunn Student Leadership Award
and the 2012 recipient of the SEATA Undergraduate
Memorial Scholarship. Andrew will be attending
Illinois State University to pursue a Master’s
Degree in the NATA Accredited Graduate Athletic
Training Education Program.
Bryan Tachibana, SEATA
Student Senate, Florida Student Senator,
Vice-President
Bryan is originally from Sunnyvale, CA where he
graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory (San
Jose, CA). Currently, he is a student at the
University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL where he is
majoring in Athletic Training and has a minor in
Psychology. Bryan is actively involved on campus:
Treasurer of Iota Tau Alpha, member of the Hurricane
Athletic Training Students, Student Council member
for the School of Education and Human Development,
and an Advisory Board member for the President’s
100. In his spare time, Bryan likes to play
volleyball, golf, biking, and enjoying the
outdoors. Following graduation, he is considering a
doctoral degree in Physical Therapy or graduate
school for Athletic Training.
Tabitha McReynolds,
SEATA Student Senate, Louisiana Student Senator,
Secretary
Tabitha McReynolds is from Zachary, Louisiana where
she was Home Educated. She is currently a senior in
the Athletic Training Education Program at
Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond,
Louisiana. She served as the President of the
Southeastern Student Athletic Trainers’ Association
and has also served as both Sophomore and Junior
Class Representative. In addition to her studies in
Athletic Training, she has many other interests. She
is a member of the Southeastern Louisiana
University’s Women Soccer team that earned the 2010
Southland Conference Championship. Tabitha was
recognized as a three-time recipient of Southland
Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. She
also serves as the Secretary for the Fellowship of
Christian Athletes at Southeastern Louisiana
University. She is a member of the Louisiana
Athletic Trainers’ Association (LATA) Executive
Board as the Student Representative and is the LATA
Student Senate President. She currently works for
Varsity Spirit Corporation. Upon graduation she will
pursue a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
Hudson Byrnes, SEATA
Student Senate, Mississippi Student Senator, Public
Relations Officer
Hudson Byrnes is from Carlisle, Ms. and a graduate
of Hinds Community College. He is currently a junior
in Delta State University’s Athletic Training
Education Program. After graduating from DSU, he
plans to further his education by obtaining his
doctorate of physical therapy degree. As public
relations officer, Hudson is responsible for keeping
up Facebook and Twitter accounts and checking emails
for the Senate.
Nate Yost, SEATA Student
Senate, Georgia Student Senator
Nate grew up in Moultrie, Georgia and graduated from
Colquitt County High School. He is currently a
Senior Athletic Training Student at Valdosta State
University. Nate has served as the President of the
Valdosta State University Athletic Training
Students’ Association. He is also a Jack Parker
Scholarship winner. He is currently an intern with
the University of Mississippi track and field, and
football teams. Nate plans to obtain a Graduate
Assistantship and earn his Master’s degree in
Athletic Training. His duties as the Georgia Senator
include strengthening communication among the ATEPs
in Georgia, relaying information from the Georgia
Athletic Trainers’ Association Executive Board to
Georgia ATEP students, and working with the Student
SEATA and GATA to improve student involvement at the
state and district levels.
Mary Beth Winningham,
SEATA Student Senate, Tennessee Student Senator
Mary Beth Winningham is from Livingston Tennessee
and graduated from Livingston Academy in 2009. She
is the current Tennessee Student Senator. Mary Beth
is a junior at Middle Tennessee State University
where she is a member of the National Society of
Leadership and Success. As an athletic training
student she has had clinical experiences with
Division I Collegiate football teams, soccer teams,
and track and field teams we well as experiences
with high school students at both private and public
schools. Mary Beth plans to attend graduate school
after receiving her undergraduate degree and
eventually becoming a teacher in an Athletic
Training Education Program.
Betsy Stallworth,
SEATA Student Senate, Alabama Student Senator
Betsy is from Gulf Shores, Alabama and is a graduate
of Gulf Shores High School. Currently, she is a
senior in the athletic training program at Troy
University in Troy, Alabama. Betsy is also a member
of Iota Tau Alpha Honor Society and held the Public
Relations office for SEATA’s student committee.
Betsy is an outgoing senior on the SEATA student
senate and plans to pursue a Master’s degree in
Exercise Science at Florida Atlantic University in
Boca Raton, Florida.
Hannah Wagner, SEATA
Student Senate, Kentucky Student Senator
Hannah Wagner is a senior in the Athletic Training
Education Program at Eastern Kentucky University.
She is also pursuing a second degree in Spanish at
Eastern Kentucky University. She is the current
Kentucky student senator. After graduation she
plans to work as an athletic trainer while applying
to Physician's Assistant school. She hopes to start
PA school in January at the University of Kentucky.
Kelley Henderson,
SEATA Student Senate, Mentor Kelley Henderson received her Bachelor of
Science in Physical Education/Sports Injury
Management from the University of South Alabama and
her Master of Science in Health Promotion from
Northwestern State University. She has worked as an
assistant athletic trainer at the University of West
Florida and a physician extender at Andrews
Institute. She spent the last six years serving as
Clinical Coordinator and then Program Director for
Athletic Training Education at Texas Christian
University. Kelley is currently working at Florida
Gulf Coast University as an instructor in the
Athletic Training Education Program.
A certified athletic trainer for 15 years, Kelley is
licensed in both Florida and Texas. She is a member
of NATA and SEATA and serves as a site visitor for
the CAATE. She has done extensive community
outreach, specifically with the Susan G. Komen 3
Day.
