Abstract Information
Submissions Accepted August 30 - November 1, 2024 at 11:59 PM Central
The SEATA Education Committee welcomes the submission of experimental research, injury surveys, case studies, and/or other research projects relevant to the practice of athletic training; lead authorship must be either: an athletic training student enrolled in a CAATE accredited program; BOC Athletic Trainer; or other so as at least one co-author is a BOC Athletic Trainer. Co-authorship may include supervising faculty members and/or clinical faculty affiliated with the student author's sponsoring institution. All abstracts will undergo blind review; assigned by the research coordinator. There are no separate selection categories for students and non-students; all submissions are evaluated equally by a blind review process for acceptance.

Using the template form (DO NOT ALTER FORMAT, FONT TYPE, TABLE STRUCTURE) type in the required information on the template table cells.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE
​All submissions must be received by no later than 11:59 PM Central on FRIDAY November 1, 2024. Upon successful registration of the abstract, the survey system will generate an email confirmation to the lead author verifying submission. The email verifies the system captured the registration; the email is not a notification of acceptance for presentation.

SELECTION CRITERIA
​Poster Presentation:

The committee will evaluate all abstract submissions (Original Research, Clinical Case Study, Other Research; Meta-Analysis/Systematic Review) based on the available rubrics (see Resources) for consideration for Poster presentation; all submissions must fall into one primary identified BOC Practice Domain to be considered for acceptance; acceptance is based on rating order by blind reviewers.

Submissions are open for any BOC Practice Domain (Educational Themes)
Oral Presentation (Rapid-Fire Session)

For all submissions selected for poster presentation, a maximum of 10 submissions will be accepted for Oral Presentation at the Free Communications Rapid-Fire Presentation Session.During this session the lead author will present their submission in a highly structured 5-8 minute period presentation (3-5 slides maximum), followed by a group moderated discussion.

Only submissions accepted as a Poster Presentation that fall under the Focused Educational Themes for the symposium will be invited for this session.

NOTIFICATION PROCESS​
All submissions complete a blind review by the research team. Authors of selected abstracts will receive an email invitation to present their submission at the SEATA EducATion Experience & Expo.
Authors may decline the presentation or withdraw his/her abstract from consideration - please contact the Free Communications Coordinator if you wish to withdraw the abstract for review. Notification of acceptance occurs via email on or before December 10th. The lead author must respond to SEATA via email within a 7 day window (per the acceptance notification email) accept or decline the presentation. Failure to confirm acceptance by the deadline in the acceptance notification email will forfeit their opportunity to present at the meeting.

An accepted abstract is NOT an "invited presentation" - the presiding author assumes all financial obligations associated with travel, lodging, printing, etc. incurred as part of the presentation.

POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES​
The submitting Lead Author will receive detailed instructions as part of the notification of acceptance email. The information provided in the abstract submission will be the information utilized for publication in the symposium proceedings. The conference coordinators will not accept edits or modifications to abstracts after January 1st.
​
General guidelines include: students should consult faculty co-authors for recommended formats for posters (dimensions should not exceed 48 inches x 72 inches) and authors must bring tacks or hook and loop squares (i.e., Velcro) to adhere posters to the display board. The SEATA Education Committee will assign poster locations. Lead Authors should confirm the board number matches his/her assigned location prior to hanging the poster.
