COMMITTEE INFORMATION

Composition: This state-based committee shall be composed of seven (7) faculty members of CAATE accredited programs (one from each state). From the seven state members, two shall be appointed as Co-Chairs (Program Coordinator and Abstract Review Coordinator).

Co-Chairs: The committee co-chairs shall be selected by the SEATA President, in consultation with the Executive Board State President(s), and/or committee members, and approved by the Executive Board.

​

Mission: To promote accessibility, inclusion, empowerment and innovation between all parties and agents involved in the production and implementation of athletic training education by providing the necessary structure and a pace for constructive and transparent discourse. This committee will be committed to supporting the advancement of the AT profession through the promotion, development, and dissemination of best-practice educational initiatives and skillful preparation of its professionals.

 

Duties:

  • Provide continued education to athletic training educators through either in-person or virtual means.

  • Review past meeting.

  • Review expenditures from past meeting.

  • Work with the SEATA Vice President to acquire the best hotel site for future meetings.

  • Secure faculty and make all arrangements to address the needs of the faculty relative to their presentation.

  • Issue and collect speaker agreement forms and materials for all SEATA Athletic Training Educators' Conference faculty.

  • Follow-up as needed with the Treasurer to ensure that all expenses relative to faculty are handled appropriately.

  • Provide the SEATA Athletic Training Educators' Conference program agenda in a timely manner to the Secretary and webmaster for distribution to the membership and publication to the SEATA website.

  • Make appropriate contacts with NATA national office for publicity regarding the meeting in eblasts and NATA News.

  • Meet with Executive Board at Annual SEATA Clinical Symposium & Members Meeting.

  • Coordinate all meeting space, rooming lists, and property needs with Athletic Training Student Symposium Committee Chair, if meetings are held concurrently.

    • Set up rooming list.

    • Set up meal plans.

    • Review plans from all sub-committees.

SOUTHEAST ATHLETIC TRAINERS' ASSOCIATION

The Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association (SEATA) is District IX of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.  It is a not-for-profit organization dealing with the concerns of its members and the profession of athletic training as a whole.  This association was first started back in 1950.  Initially comprised of the members of the Southeastern Conference schools, this district is represented by Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
