Eligibility/Qualifications
If you are a NATA student member (undergraduate or graduate) pursuing a degree in athletic training or affiliated degree, you may be eligible to apply for a scholarship(s) ranging from $500 - $2,300. Students are encouraged to apply for multiple scholarships as they may qualify; however, candidates may only be awarded one SEATA designated (*) scholarship per academic year. SEATA scholarship candidates must meet the following general eligibility requirements (unless otherwise stipulated):


• Be a current NATA member who resides within SEATA / District 9 of the NATA.
• Have at least a "B" average in their overall curriculum.
• Have unmet financial need.
• Be sponsored by a SEATA member in good standing with both the NATA and BOC.
• Have a character reference by a SEATA member in good standing with both the NATA and BOC.
• Applicants, AT Sponsor and AT Character Reference MUST each have a NPI number.
• Scholarship awards will apply to the current academic year (Spring term).

Eligibility Requirements

1. Be a student enrolled full-time in any degree program (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral) at an accredited college/university.

2. Have a parent/guardian who is, and has been, a member of SEATA in good standing with the BOC for at least five years preceding the date of application.

2. Be an ethnic minority student enrolled in a professional or post-professional graduate athletic training degree program.
3. NATA student members who do not reside in District 9 and are enrolled in an academic program within SEATA, are encouraged to also apply.
Note: the SEATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee determines the recipient of this award.

 

SEATA Memorial Post-Professional Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements

1. Current NATA members in good standing with the BOC and their respective state credentialling authority.
2. Be enrolled in a post-Professional athletic training degree program.

 

NATA Foundation Scholarships Program

The NATA Foundation manages the following endowed academic scholarships/grants. The NATA Foundation determines the qualifications, deadlines and application processes for these awards, designated for District 9/SEATA members.

 

  1. The Bobby Barton Scholarship Endowment, sponsored by District 9, provides an annual scholarship of $2,300 to a qualified athletic training student.

  2. The Patty and Chuck Kimmel Scholarship Endowment was established in 2013 by District 9 to honor former NATA President Chuck Kimmel and his wife, Patty for their unwavering dedication to the athletic training profession. It provides an annual scholarship of $2,300 to a qualified athletic training student from District 9.

  3. The PFATS Dean Kleinschmidt Scholarship Endowment was established in 2008 by PFATS and provides an annual scholarship of $2,300 to qualified athletic training students.

  4. The PFATS Jerry Rhea Scholarship Endowment was established in 2008 by PFATS and provides an annual scholarship of $2,300 to qualified athletic training students.

  5. The MaryBeth and Bob Horodyski Research Endowment provides an annual Research Grant of $1,000 to a qualified member of NATA District 9.
     

SOUTHEAST ATHLETIC TRAINERS' ASSOCIATION

The Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association (SEATA) is District IX of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.  It is a not-for-profit organization dealing with the concerns of its members and the profession of athletic training as a whole.  This association was first started back in 1950.  Initially comprised of the members of the Southeastern Conference schools, this district is represented by Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
